Though Paige claims, “I can see just fine,” the comical illustrations tell a different story. Paige’s parents grow concerned and decide it’s time for Paige to visit the eye doctor. Paige remains defiant throughout the process, until she finds the perfect frames and more importantly, perfect eyesight! Barclay successfully depicts a very real and relevant issue with deliberate light-heartedness and gentle humour. Young readers will cathartically relate to Paige’s journey and celebrate the triumph of seeing clearly in the end!
